For as long as I can remember, my relationship with my mother felt distinctly different from that of my peers. My memories felt rewritten at times, and the expectation was clear: comply without question and remain silent. Living in such an environment often felt like existing within a war zone, where I was perpetually on high alert.

I've dubbed these types of mothers "Lemon Moms" due to their reliance on manipulation, guilt, shame, and humiliation rather than nurturing bonds. This approach often leaves children feeling inadequate, unloved, and misunderstood—issues that can echo into adulthood, manifesting as relationship difficulties or mental health challenges.
